Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently finished a prescription for clindamycin 300 mg every 6 hrs for 10 days... I took last one on 2/26 then on 3/5 I developed a rash that has gotten much worse. I went to dermatologist and he feels it is a reaction to the meds.... is this a common reaction to this medication? I have never taken it before. Thanks Gerry Melko
Yes, clindamycin can cause an allergic reaction. Some advice that I can give to you are: -take oral antihistamines daily -use calamine lotion for local relief -if you don't get better take prescribed corticosteroids
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
