Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
After 3 trips to ER. All heart test, home heart monitor . Clean bill on heart cardiologist said no Afi. Heart Straight lline on . I feel over welhelmed, almost like I could pass out, heart fast. I have become anxious on everything since turning 80. Take BP meds only. Started on Clonazepam 0.5. What side effects? Never mind cancel. CANCEL
Clonazepam is one of the anti-anxiety medications, which has no any interaction with commonly prescribed antihypertensive (BP) medications.
It's the most common adverse effect is somnolescence which can occur up to 37% of the patients, the others being dizziness, fatigue, abnormal coordination, confusion and very rarely impotence and decreased libido.
However, each drug should always be prescribed in the context of its benefits vs its adverse effects, with the consultation of a doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Zahir Shah,
