Does Clopidogrel Cause Reduction In Bone Density?
my bone density was increasing over the years with oestrogen therapy, vitamin D, moderate exercise since I was 50 and Vitamin K2 for the last 4 years. Three years ago my cardiologist put me on Clopidogrel as I may have had a clot thrown off from my aortic bioprosthetic valve. My recent DEXA scan shows a huge decrease in bone density since the last scan 3 years ago. I am now severely osteopenic. I am female now aged 73. Does Clopidogrel cause reduction in bone density? If so what can be used?

Clopidogrel does not cause osteopenia or low bone density. Consult an orthopedic and get evaluated. Drugs like bisphosphonates will be helpful.
