Does Coumadin 5 Mg Used To Treat DVT Have Any Side Effects?

I just began a treatment for DVT with coumadin...5mg every day except Mon...7.5. I am experiencing lower intestinal soreness and my right lymph nodes in my upper neck region is sore. My initial INR was 1.5 then went to 5.0...I experience tiredness on and off throughout the week...is this a normal side effect? Healthy 57 y/o male

Hello,

* Coumadin is a prophylactic drug to prevent further episodes of deep vein thrombosis and its co related unwanted clinical symptoms.

* It is always mandatory to remain in close contact with your treating physician for prothrombin time evaluation over time to time.

Side effects are multiple, but common ones are

- Gastric upset and indigestion, belching, bloating

- Severe bleeding in case of high BP

- Platelet function alteration causing proneness for systemic bleeding

- alteration in some blood reports.
