Does Crestor 5 Mg Causes Rise In Fasting Blood Sugar Level?
Since I started taking Crestor (5 mg) 6 months ago, my fasting blood sugar is 130. Does this drug cause increases in blood glucose levels? My doctor wants me to stay on cholesterol drugs to keep my cholesterol levels down within the normal range. Is there a statin that will not have this affect on blood sugar levels?
Dear sir i can understand your concern. The medication what you are using is a very good medication and by the way 130 is not a bad sugar it can be controlled very well by adjusting your diet and increasing the duration of exercise. the benefits of statins are huge.it prevents blooking of blood vessels by decreasing lipid content in blood. i strongly support your doctors opinion on statin. you can continue the statin without any trouble. regards Dr vamsi Diabetologist
