Does Cymbalta Intake Cause Pain In The Knees And Calves?
Dr. I am experiencing pain in my knees and calves. I take Cymbalta 120 mg. that has recently been increased from 90 mg every morning. I do take several other rx s due to chronic pain. I had a severe head injury in 1998 and almost died, always in chronic pain. The leg pain has worsened over the last 10 days and I m asking you if Cymbalta could be the culprit? Thank you in advance for your answer, Wendy L. Bulhoes
Since you have been taking other medicines along with Cymbalta, drug interactions can cause such symptoms. (Avoid combinations, sometimes risk of interaction outweighs benefits). The dose has been increased recently as per your information, it could cause subtle effects like restless leg syndrome, fatigue, muscle twitching, spasms, jerks, discomfort or pain. You are suggested to talk to your treating doctor, inform him of all the medicines you have been taking. If needed changes can be done about the dose or medicine prescribed. However, stay well hydrated & get blood tests done to rule out any developing OA or RA, fibromyalgia, etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
