Does Diane 35 Help To Regulate Periods?
Hello dr. I am 24 yrs old,unmarried, I having been facing irregular periods since February after Feb I didnt had my periods hence I consulted my doc. She prescribed me medicines still there were no periods after which she prescribed injections then I had my period in May. Now, she has prescribed me Diane 35. I just want to know that Diane 35 is oral contraceptive pills, how they going to help in regulating my periods and why she has prescribed Diane 35?

Diane 35 tablet contains both ethinyl estradiol and cryproterone which is used to treat symptoms of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) such as excessive hair growth, acne and and irregular periods. It also works as a contraceptive, hence avoid using any other contraceptive pill. It helps in regulating the production of androgens as well as periods in females. Cryproterone works by blocking the overproduction of androgens in the ovaries, thereby reducing unwanted hair growth and acnes.
Ethinyl estradiol enhances the effect of cryproterone by reducing the amount of androgens in the blood. Together, they also regularize the menstrual cycles. Take this medication at the same time every day as it will help you remember to take it. The dose and duration will depend on what you are being treated for, but you should always complete a full course of this medication as prescribed by your doctor. Don't skip any doses and follow your doctor's instructions carefully to get maximum benefit.
