Does Dianette Cover For Contraception, If Taken With Tetralysal?
Hi, iam currently taking dianette for skin and contraception aswell as tetralysal for my skin. The doctor that prescribed these treatments advised my contraception cover would not be affected however after reading the Instructions for tetralysal and various websites it now looks like iam Not covered for contraception anymore. Please can you advise if this is correct? Thanks
The birth control pill dianette may be less effective if taken along with Tetralysal. Dianette is an oral combined contraceptive pill which contains cyproterone and estrogen. If Dianette is taken along with antibiotic such as Tetralysal, it may reduce the contraceptive (birth controlling) effects of both cyproterone and estrogen present in the pill Dianette. Thus, you may be at an increased risk for pregnancy. I advise you to consult your doctor for an alternative or additional form of contraception during treatment with Tetralysal.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
