Hi I started taking contraception (cilest) one month ago and it s all right for me but yesterday I had given tetralysal for my skin problems and I was wondering if it may affect my health. is there a point to still take the contraception ? I was given etralysal for three months. Thanks for advice.
Yes, it may reduce the efficacy of contraceptive pill Cilest.
Taken together with birth control pills like Cilest, the antibiotics like tetralysal may reduce the contraceptive (birth control) effects of Cilest hence you may be at increased risk for pregnancy or breakthrough bleeding.
You may have to use an alternate effective birth control method such as condom or to increase the dose of Cilest during treatment with Tetralysal after consulting your doctor.
Hope I could answer your query. Take care and kindly rate the answer if you are convinced.
