Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have very bad sciatica pain on both sides and I m experiencing severe upper & lower back spasms. I have had pain management shots of lidocaine/Glucose, a shot of toradol, and a 90min massage with my PT. My pain management NP has prescribed Diazepam 5mg 1x daily at bedtime (as needed), my GP prescribed Naproxen 500mg. 2x daily (as needed). Do I need to be concerned about the interactions of these drugs?
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about drug interactions.
The drug interactions between the Diaz and naproxin has not been seen with any dangerous concerns. Because naproxin is also taken with proton pump inhibitors, that are seen to increase the levels of naproxin in plasma.
So you need to avoid any PPI while the combination is prescribed by your doctor. If the medicine is prescribed by two different doctors you need to inform at least one about the drug interactions.
Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any further queries.
Regards Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
