General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
PCOD disorder causes delay in conception due to irregular menstrual period and lack of ovulation at proper time.
Hence, the strategies to overcome these problems, the following medications are used:
1. Regularization of menstrual periods.
2. Ovulation inducing drugs.
3. Anti-androgen drugs.
What the doctor has prescribed is right and would help in giving you a chance to conceive. But you need a regular follow-up and alteration in treatment by addition of certain medications, as and when necessary.
Also, in addition, reduction in weight by consuming diet less in carbohydrates and moderate exercise would increase the chances of conceiving.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
