Does Duphaston Help In Conceiving While Suffering From PCOD?
Hi, I am 22yrs old. I got married 5months ago. I am having pcod from last 4yrs. My height is5. 1 and weight 65. My doctor recommended folmet and duphaston tablet. I am having this tablets from last 10 days. Dr had recommended 3months course. Do this tablets help me in conceiving. Plz suggest.Thank you
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. PCOD disorder causes delay in conception due to irregular menstrual period and lack of ovulation at proper time. Hence, the strategies to overcome these problems, the following medications are used: 1. Regularization of menstrual periods. 2. Ovulation inducing drugs. 3. Anti-androgen drugs. What the doctor has prescribed is right and would help in giving you a chance to conceive. But you need a regular follow-up and alteration in treatment by addition of certain medications, as and when necessary. Also, in addition, reduction in weight by consuming diet less in carbohydrates and moderate exercise would increase the chances of conceiving. Hope the information provided would be helpful.
