Does Duphaston Help In Delaying Periods?

Hello I’m traveling with my husband and my gynecologist told me to take 2 pills of duphaston per day to delay my period and guarantee that I won’t get it during my vacation, now would my period be delayed while taking duphaston even if i’m having intercourse, or would intercourse provoke my period to come even if i’m taking duphaston regularly ?

Hello,

Dumphston took in the dose you suggest to delay your periods would be successful till a certain period say 15-20 days at the most.
- If the delaying exceeds, it may give breakthrough bleeding which may not be menstruation.
-If you had already conceived the pregnancy would be supported by the hormone.
- In case of excessive delay overexertion or sex can instigate periods. So continue with pills for advised days, avoid sex in overstretched delaying, take comparative rest for an unincidental postponement and in riddled holidays.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
