Does Duphaston Help In Regularising Menstruation Cycle?
I have taken duphaston for 5 days last month, 1 pill a day and I get my period after 5 days. This month again my period delay and I started to take again the duphaston. Today is my 4th day. Question: Do i need to take this pill every month so that I can get my period? When will my cycle be normal again? FYI i was diagnosed with PCOS since Mar 2015 and been taking metphormin 500mg 3x a day where my doc say it can regular back my menstrual cycle but it only works for 2-3 months and now my period stop again.
Hello dear Understand your concern PCOS disease course is very unpredicatble and treatment should be taken for at least 6-8 months to regularize the period. Consult the gynecologist and go for reproductive hormone analysis, USG scan and ovarian follicle study for better management. You can take dupahstonin the second half of the period (15th to 25th day) to regularize the period.
You have to take pill for at least 6-8 months and cycle may become regualr. If duphaston will not help then birth control pill and clomiphene citrate can be used. Do regualr exercise and loss 10-12 percent weight if you are obese. Take healthy diet, fresh fruits and green leafy vegetable, avoid stress, drink plenty of fluid. If medical treatment will not help then surgery like ovarian dreeling should require. Hope this may help you
