Does Duromine Help In Weight Loss?

Hi Dr Topiwala, I have hypothyroidism (graves disease). I was diagnosed with this condition about eight years ago and have been take thyroxine 100mg per day. I am 43yo and my current weight is 86Kg and I am 173cm tall. My weight does fluctuate from 80 kg to 86 kg depending if I am dieting or not. My recent blood test results show that I am finally on a normal level but find it very difficult to lose anything beyond 80kg. My Dr. who I have never seen before has prescribed me duromine 40mg (to my surprise) aware of my condition, just gave me the script without me even asking for it. i have not started will the duromine as yet as I am cautious. Will taking duromine help assist in my weight loss or will it cause issues in the long run for my condition? I have taken it in the past before I was aware of my condition and apart from the first few nights of restless sleeping I found it ok to use. Thank you Tanya
