Does Eliquis Cause Easy Bruising On The Body?

Husband is on eloquist and bruises frequently. About 3 weeks ago a section of his shoulder blade and upper back on one side became covered with red/purple dots. Not raised and no bigger than the head of a pencil. Does not look like any of his bruises.
