Does Eliquis Cause Severe Headaches?

HI I am taking Eliquis for Afib can It cause migraine headaches I use to get migraines but started taking a blood pressure medication and they stopped about 5 years ago. I am now taking the Eliquis and metorprolol ( doubled dose to 100 twice a day and no amlodipine stopped. misss

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Eliquis in itself doesn't cause headaches. It's not a typical side effect. The only scenario would be, if you had a brain hemorrhage in which Eliquis might play a part but in that scenario you would usually have other symptoms. If only isolated headache, Eliquis can't be blamed.
