Hi my name is Mary and I had estrogen based breast cancer in 2015 and i had a lumpectomy and chemo and radiation. I have since been taking exemestane... my hands and feel are so painful. I am 74 years old and a diabetic for 30 years are these pain/joint pains due to neuropathy, arthritis of a sign effect of the exemestrane?
Exemestane is a brand name of Aromatase inhibitor drug. It won’t cause any hand or foot pain. The pain you are experiencing may be due to something else and has to be evaluated. It may be due to arthritis or neuropathic pain which is quite common in your age group. As of now you can take analgesics like Gabapentin for pain. If pain persists, better to consult a physician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
