Does Flomax Help In Eliminating Kidney Stone?

I have a kidney stone in urethra,my questions: What is the percentage of ceses when Flomax helped to pass the stone? How does Flomax works exactly-does it break stones into pieces ot it pushes them, or enlarges urethra? I have a low blood pressure-is Flomax dangerous for me?

Hi,

Flomax helps in the expulsion of certain stones. It helps in expulsion of stones less then 7 mm and not deep in kidney.

It does not break the stone, rather it dilates urethra (the urinary pipe) and hence help the expulsions.

The exact percentage cannot be given as it depends on the size and site of stone but it definitely helps.

This can cause low BP, so you should be very careful. We advise taking the pill at night just before going to bed.

Take more and more fluids to make at least 4 liters of urine.
