Does Fluconazole Improve The Efficacy Of Imbruvica?

I am taking Imbruvica for Waldenstrom s. I m also taking fluconazole as I m getting over a bout with the shingles and autoimune hemolytic anemia. Instead of having me take the full dosage of Imbruvica (340mg/day), my doctor has me on only 140mg/day as she said that the fluconazole boosts the effectiveness of the Imbruvica. Can you explain why?

Yes, your doctor is right as Fluconazole decreases the metabolism of Imbruvica. Person who takes Fluconazole need only 140 mg per day of Imbruvica.
