Does Fluticasone Nasal Spray Cause Clogging Of Head And Nasal Congestion?
I was taking Fluticasone Propionate Nasal Spray 50mcg, 2 sprays in each nostril for 22 days for chronic rhinitis, on the 22nd day I started hearing my heartbeat in my left ear( and its very loud), my head feels clogged, my nose is congested and my heart feels congested. I had the same feeling after taking plaquenil.Could the medication be the cause.
Every medication has potential side effects that may or may not occur.
Congestion of the nasal passages and sinuses are not known side effects of fluticasone. It can be associated with some of the following effects (though most persons have no problems): nasal bleeding, sneezing, coughing, nasal irritation , nausea.
The congestion is likely related to inflammation of the sinuses or/ and nasal passages. This is most commonly due to acute infection or allergies.
I hope this helps
