I am a 62 year old female in good health; have been having stomach issues; lots of burning pain; always feeling hungry; after many tests, scans, ultra sound, stomach scoping they figured it could be my gall gladder although the functional test did not show that but I have a strong family history of all female members, two sisters, mother and two nieces had their gall bladders removed. I tried the PPI Dexilant and carafate for weeks; did t help; had loose bowels then constipated; lots of right upper quadrant shoulder pain. I am two weeks out of the surgery and doing better but still have the upper quadrant pain and some burning issues every day no matter what I eat; even water causes that. I am wondering if my vagus nerve may be involved in causing the discomfort? I have taken gabapentin before for arthritis pain in my jaw and it helped so much; I also took it after I had breast cancer in 2003 for hot flashes and found relief. Would this be a possibility???? If so what would be a recommended dosage to begin with ....I would like to discuss it with my primary....
