Does HCG Diet Cause False Positive Pregnancy Test Results?

Hi. I need help with a slightly difficult question. Earlier this month I began taking prescription birth control pills two days after my last period(ended on the 8th) and I use Encare spermicidal suppositories every time my husband and I have sex. It has been a while since I have been on prescription birth control and my periods have been averaging 21 days. I have also been on HCG(The HCG Solution) diet for a little over a week and have lost about six pounds. My husband and I have both been waiting on my period(on day 25) and I decided to take a pregnacy test. Both two I took came up positive. I am going to get this checked out in the morning. I do not know if this is a side effect of the HCG or I am actually pregnant. Please give me your best advice.

Hi,

False positive pregnancy test is possible, if you take the tests too early. The reliable results are possible only after 8 days delay in expected date of periods. Also, if you were taking prescribed contraceptives, possibility of pregnancy remains lesser. Please get it done at right time. Get blood HCG test done to get rid of doubt.
