Does HIV Cause Itching Around Groin?

I'm 63 yo, male, went to a doctor 4 weeks ago for itching around groin and trunk. Was diagnosed as HIV+. Since then, have been seeing dermatologist, awaiting the results of a CD4/VL test (1 month). Rashes getting worse. I drink fairly heavily. Is the rash related to HIV or drinking?

I don't suppose drinking can cause itching. Itching around groin could be simple a 'fungal infection' . Of course rashes can be presentation of initial stages(just after infection) Are you any medicines ? even they can cause such.
It is good thatyou are seeing a dermatologist who can can fix these for sure.
