Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a 19 year old son who has had Crohns disease severe enough to where he had his colon removed when he was 15, and has an ileostomy bag (permanent). He has also developed ankylosing spondylitis, for which he started taking Humera (also realizing this would be beneficial if Crohns flared again). His first injection was 16 days ago, and his second was two days ago. After the second injection. Could this be a side effect from the Humera, as opposed to a Crohn s flare-up?
I really appreciate your concern, Crohn's disease and Ankylosing spondylitis are different condition and they may not be related with each other neither their treatment could cause any counter or interact with each other, but as a matter of fact chronic ill condition could be the reason, and not the side effect of injection.
Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain Shaikh
