Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a patient on 5mg coumadin daily. He is taking the one minute cure food grade hydrogen peroxide. His reported INR is 5.6, up from 1.9. He has not been on antibx. Could the hydrogen peroxide be a cause of increased INR s? I cannot find any research to confirm.
Why does he use Coumadin? For patients who use Coumadin INR goal 2 to 3. His INR elevated is most likely from Coumadin not hydrogen peroxide. He should see his doctor to readjust to the Coumadin dose again.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General & Family Physician
