Does IV Iron Infusion Interact With Metformin And Insulin?
I am a type 2 diabetic and have been on metformin for over 20 years and insulin for over 4 years. I was diagnosed as anemic and I have been prescribed IV iron infusion by a haemotologist. I am trying to find out if the iron infusion will contradict my diabetic medications.

IV iron has no obvious interactions with Metformen or your diabetes. You can receive it without any concern. However care should be taken with IV iron as sometimes allegic infection may occur with it so not should be very slow infusion. It is also important to find out and treat the cause of iron deficiency as well.
