Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a pretty bad anxiety attack, which I haven t had in a while. I went to the store today and picked up some kava tea which I ve heard great things about. I have also heard that there isn t enough studies on it or that it can cause liver damage. I got home and drank a cup and felt back to normal afterwards. Is there a health risk at all in using this, or a certain timeframe I should stop using it?
Thanks for your query . There are side effects of kava tea . It is known to cause liver damage along with other side effects . Although it has very beneficial effects but no study has been giving clear cut results of the equation between side effects and beneficial effects .
So i would suggest you to not to use kava tea . Instead you should opt other natural methods for your anxiety . You can take green tea twice a day , you can do yoga and meditation (which is one of the best natural method for stress and anxiety) .
You should also take the help of psychiatrist , who may do counseling of yours and may prescribe antidepressants .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
