Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a friend with me right now that was put on Keppra due to high blood sugar count and was having facial seizures and could not talk. Has been on it about month taking 1000 mg twice a day. If blood sugar is under control can they go off Keppra? The side effect they have are keeping him from having any enjoyment in life, just sleeps.
Keppra is Levetiracetam. It used for seizures, and it is not a drug used to reduce sugar levels. So if your seizure does not control under seizures, then you need to consult your neuro physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regard, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
