Does Lactodex LBW Lead To Developmental Disturbances In An Infant?

Hello.. i delivered premarturr twins (32weeks)..girl 1.4kgs and boy 1.8kgs... they are two months old now and weigh apprx 2.8 and 3.5.... I could breastfeed alternately for only till a month. From birth they were advised Lactodex LBW and are now on Lactodex 1 along with iron and calcium suppliments. Will this affect their brain development and immunity and overall health as they grow?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Lactodex or any other supplements with recommended formulations for the need of the baby will help to overall maintain the health status, hemoglobin level and rest parameters as weight; but the immune development and brain development are not dependent upon the supplements, they are the inherent abilities of the child only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
