Does Lamictal Cause Insomnia?

I ve taken Lamictel (spelling?) before for bi-polar disorder. I just titrated up and I m at 200 mg; i m also taking Lithium (which I have for 20 years) I can t sleep and read that Lamictel may cause INSOMNIA. Can it? I can t remember when I was on it before if I battled Insomnia

Cause? no, I doubt they solved the many issues of causality while developing it. It is associated with insomnia. But then, it is associated with all the symptoms of bipolar disorder because it is associated with people with bipolar disorder. and the possibility of bipolar disorder triggering difficulty sleeping should be strongly considered.

Lamictal, like all other brain dampening drugs, would be more expected to cause sleepiness. It is possible that it could cause insomnia but other possibilities are at least as likely (bipolar, coincidence, other issues with sleep).
