Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I started taking Lisinopril 5 mg on 04/06 because I was having blood pressure spikes. My BP seemed to regulate but then I had spikes on 2 more occasions, and also a couple of occasions when my BP got too low - 90s/50s. I had a head CT and an ultrasound of my carotid arteries - both were okay. It may not be related, but I was started on Levothyroxine 50 mcg about 6 months ago for hypothyroidism and just don t think I ve felt right since. Any ideas?

Does Levothyroxine Affect Blood Pressure Levels?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Blood pressure is altered across the entire spectrum of thyroid disease. Levothyroxine therapy can cause only a small decrease in blood pressure. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
