Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was diagnosed with essential tremor in my fingers/hands 15 months ago. My anxiety is still very high. Just prescribed lexapro 10 mg. Only taken for 3 days but so far I feel worse. Maybe even more jittery and my tremor amplitude seems increased. Is this normal? I realize it will take some time, but I have also heard some people report that lexapro may have tremor as a side effect. Will it subside? Thanks. Richard
Hello Richard. Thank you for writing us here. Anxiety causes tremors and if the medication doesn't work, I would suggest to change it. Proponalol and clonazepam would help you. You have to take proponalol for a week, twice daily and clonaezapam once at bed time or whenever you feel you're getting anxious. You'll feel the difference in a week.
Best regards, Dr Gunjan
