Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 50 year old male in reasonable health, 220lbs, 5 9 , i exercise on the treadmill 5-6 times a week at 30 mins a time. I have been having difficulty getting my heart rate over 120 since I started taking the 10 mg of lisinipril daily. is it my imagination? or does the lisinipril affect (lower) your target heart rate?
Lisinopril does help to lower your blood pressure and heart rate helping to keep it within a safe range. I do not see why you need to raise your heart rate to that level if you have an underlying blood pressure or cardiovascular issue, it is best avoided.
Best wishes
