Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my name is Teresa. My questions n is that about 25 yrs ago I haddock surgery and was given Lortab in the hospital. After a while I broke out in large whelks. The nurse said I was allergic to them and they were stopped. If I were to take one could it be fatal?
Skin wheels are common after many drugs and they do indicate allergy to the drug or any of its constituents. This cannot be predicted that with much severe the allergy may be. It may be simple wheels or rash or may causes fatal anaphyamxis.
So we cannot be sure how much would be the response. However most of the times it only causes rashes or wheels and anaphylaxis is very uncommon. But we suggest to avoid such drugs until there is a very hard need of it and there is no alternative.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman
