Does Losartan Potassium Interact With Cartia?

I am taking losartan potassium, 100 mg. I ve been prescribed cartia xt 240 mg as well as I ve recently had an ablation. I understand there may be some negative interaction between these two. Is there an alternative to the losartan potassium I should consider?

Hi
Thanks for positng your query on HCM.
I have read and understood your concern.
Losartan potasium and Cartia are both anti-hypertensive drugs with different mechanisms of action.Cartia is a calcium channel blocker while Losartan Potassium is an angiotensin II receptor antagonists. The 2 drugs may be used together when your Doctor feels so for optimal BP control.Just trust your Doctor and observe if any effects while on the drugs.
Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns.
Wish you good health
