Does Losartan Cause Dry Mouth And Excessive Thirst?
I am a white male, 70 years old, 5 9 and 210 lbs. My last blood pressure at the cardiologist was 140/70. He started losartan at that time (about 30 days ago). My most recent blood pressure taken by a vascular doctor was 110/70. Does losartan potassium make you thirsty and wake up with a dry mouth? When is the best time of the day to take the medication - my dosage is 25 mg once a day? Thank you -
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Losartan should not cause a dry mouth. You may want to have your glucose checked. You can take losartan either in the morning or at bedtime, but it should be taken at the same time each day.
Regards
