Does Lymecycline Intake During Pregnancy Cause Any Adverse Effects In The Fetus?
Hi. I have been taking lymecycline on and off for a few years. I started taking it again about 3 weeks ago after about a 2-3 month break. I now think I may be Pregnant and am worried about the side effects this may have on a Baby. Should I be worried and what should I do?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Lymecycline is a tetracycline group of drug, which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. Hence, it is used to treat infections.
Lymecycline is not considered to be safe if you are planning to become pregnant or if you are pregnant. Use of Lymecycline during pregnancy may affect the growth of developing teeth and can lead to permanent teeth discoloration.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
