Does MRSA Cause Swelling And Cellulitis In Lower Legs?
If someone who had an abscess in their upper groin area in which the fluid in the abscess tested positive for MRSA and the abscess was not properly drained is it possible for the MRSA to travel to the lower legs and cause swelling and reaccuring cellulitis?
Yes, The organism usually causes soft tissue swelling. You need to take an antibiotic course of vancomycin or Megapen for 10 days. Just draining the abscess won't help.
