Does Methylcobalamin Have Any Adverse Side Effects?
My staff came in today with a flue. She told me that she accepted a vitamine that was given to her called methycobal but it did not make her feel better, worse actually. I have already explained to her not to accept a medicine from others. My question is what is this medicine normally used for and did it do any harm. Thank you
Hello dear Understand your concern. Methylcobalamine is active form of vitamin B12. It is used in following conditions: Vitamin B12 deficiency Pernicious anemia Malnutrition Cognitive dysfunction Diabetic or peripheral neuropathy Some immune disorder. High homocysteine level
Following are common side effects of it: Diarrhea Headache Anaphylatic reaction Itching Nervousness swelling
But it does not cause flu like symptoms. It may be some viral infection
Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
