Does Mirvaso Cause Side Effects Like Redness & Flushing?

I am having redness and flushing of the face due to applying Mirvaso 0.33% topical gel for Rosacea. It hasn t gone away since Thursday! When will these side effects, the redness and flushing, due to the gel go away, if ever? It s now Saturday night. Should I contact my dermatologist about this right away or wait until Monday? Thanks!

Mirvaso (brimonidine) has flushing and redness(erythema) as its common side effects. These side effects usually subside over the course of treatment. These side effects occur mostly in the initial stages of treatment. Two things you need to follow for the treatment to be successful.
1) Apply only the prescribed amount; applying higher quantity was one of the reason for these side effects
2) Avoid triggers like spicy food or any other particular activity that precipitates rosacea
I hope you can wait till Monday if flushing and redness are the only problems. Do follow the above advice. If you have additional symptoms like gidinesss, headache; then you can report immediately.
