Does The Beta Blockers Reduce The Stamina?

Hi, i recently been diagnosed rosacea. I stay away from all kinds of triggers like spicy food less dairy on my diet no alcohol etc. I have been training for 2 years and this is my passion but its makes my face red and i am worried this can make my rosacea worsen so i will start take betablocker i think. My question is how does betablocker affect your strength? i heard betablocker may lower ur stamina but dont know nothing about the roll it has on strength. I go very heavy when i lift weight and dont wanna take betablocker and then dont have the same power as i did before on it.. dont wanna take a risk and maybe drop the weight and injure a muscle. Normaly i do 4-6 reps will i be able to to have the same strength with betablocker?thx

Hi,

Beta-blockers are a type of medication commonly used to treat conditions such as high blood pressure, heart failure, and angina. They work by blocking the effects of the hormone adrenaline on the heart and blood vessels, which slows down the heart rate and reduces blood pressure.

While beta-blockers may decrease the overall stamina and endurance of some individuals, they do not typically have a significant impact on strength or muscle function. The effects of beta-blockers on exercise performance may vary depending on the individual, their fitness level, and the dosage and type of beta blocker used.

It is important to discuss any concerns about the potential impact of beta blockers on strength and exercise performance with your doctor. They can guide how to safely continue your training while taking medication and monitor any potential side effects. Additionally, while beta-blockers may be useful for treating rosacea symptoms, it is important to discuss all treatment options with a healthcare professional before making any changes to your medication regimen.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
