Does N-Acetyl-Cysteine Cause Wheezing And Breathing Difficulty?

I've been taking NAC (MaxGxl) for several years, to help with sarcoid, glutathione enhancement, etc. Recently learned that NAC can cause wheezing, bronchial breathing problems, etc. I recently have been experiencing these issues, but associated them with my sarcoidosis flaring up, or getting worse due to weight, age, etc. Now I think maybe NAC is causing issues, but not sure?! Is NAC side effects common?

Hi,

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your pain and discomforts

As per your history is concerned N-acetyl castanet is likely safe for most adults, when used as a prescription medication. It can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea or constipation.sometimes It can cause rashes, fever, headache, drowsiness, low blood pressure, and liver problems.

When inhaled (breathed into the lungs), it can also cause swelling in the mouth, runny nose, drowsiness, clamminess, and chest tightness.

Hope you got your answer.
