Hi,

Neurontin contains Gabapentin which belongs to the group of medications known as anticonvulsants is used to treat and control seizures. It is also used to relieve nerve pain following shingles and diabetic neuropathy. Patients taking Neurontin may experience swelling in the feet and ankles. The presence of lower leg swelling and may cause discomfort and impair walking. It can cause pain in the lower back or side, muscle aches, lack or loss of strength, severe weakness etc.

Stop taking this medication may help to subside these side effects over time. But, stopping this medication abruptly may cause unpleasant side effects that is known as withdrawal syndromes. Symptoms of Gabapentin withdrawal may include nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, anxiety etc. The safest way to to stop using this Gabapentin is to tapper off the medication under the supervision of your doctor.
