I have Trigeminal Neuralgia and my doctor rx d Neurontin. First, she rx d 50 mg. 3 times a day. When my pain was not being relieved she upped it to 100mg. 3 times a day. My question is: Is it a common side - effect to feel exhausted, weak and confused?
Yes, weakness and confusion are very side effects of gabapentin. Other side effects include sedation, blood glucose fluctuation, jaundice, fever, hyponatraemia, movement disorder, infection, otitis media, leucopenia, anorexia, increased appetite, depression, anxiety, hostility, insomnia, headache, and paraesthesia. These side effects are temporary and will resolve once you stop it. Advice 1. Continue gabapentin as suggested 2. Drink coffee every 8 hours Thanks
