Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Norco Have Any Adverse Effects On Fetus During Pregnancy?
Can taking 10 milligrams of Norco while being 10 & a half weeks pregnant affect my unborn baby in any ways at all? I take a half of one when needed. Also I take promethezine occasionally for nausea and vomiting. I would love a second opinion thank you so much. I appreciate it!
It is not safe to take norco during pregnancy. Opioid containing medications like norco when taken during early pregnancy increase the risk of congenital heart defects and other birth defects in the new born babies.
Moreover, the babies born might also show the withdrawal symptoms of opioids. In view of the above I would recommend paracetamol/acetaminophen as a safe and effective pain reliever during pregnancy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
