Does NovaSure Ablation Cause Foul Odour To Be Emitted From The Vagina?

I got the Nova sure ablation in November 2014. For the past 6 to 8 months I ve been having a problem with a foul odor and a brownish in color discharge. I ve used everything from douches to OTC yeast infection products to rid myself of the smell. I ve has an pap with no verbal results. So I just assumed everything was ok.. Please advise what I should do.

I understand your concern.
NOvaSure ablation is a procedure by which internal layer of uterus ( which is responsible for bleeding ) is destroyed. This usually heals by scarring within few days to 2 weeks...& results in decrease/ stoppage of menstrual bleeding.
You have started your problem of foul smell after 8-10 months of the procedure. It seems to be infection of vagina .. which was absent for first few months of ablation.
Vaginal douche actually disturbs normal vaginal flora .. this allows harmful bacteria to flourish & cause more problem. I feel that's why you did not have relief with the OTC drugs.
* In such a situation investigations like Vaginal swab test/ deep vaginal swab test ( as per a gynecologist would suggest after your physical check up ) would pin point the causative organism .. this would be followed by specific treatment to irradiate the problem en root.
