Does PCOS (ultrasound) Cause Any Side Effect During Periods ?
My 16year old daughter has missed her last two periods..After diagnosing borderline PCOS (ultrasound done), she has been prescribed Primolut NOR for 5 days.. When will she have her period? Will the periods coming after that be painful? Does this medicine have any side effects?
Hi, Thanks for the query. Poly cystic ovary disease presents with irregular menstrual cycles, anovulation, insulin resistance etc. The symptoms vary depending on the severity. PrimulotN helps in inducing withdrawal bleeding. It may take around 7 days to induce withdrawal bleeding. There may be few side effects like nausea, bloating sensation etc. Usually these will subside soon. To regularize the menstrual cycles, she may need to take two to three cycles of hormonal pills and insulin sensitizers with your doctor's advice. Take care.
