Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently had surgery on my broken wrist and elbow. on my day of release from hospital I was given a bright yellow round pill. the nurse gave it to me had been abusing me while in her care. I asked her what the pill was she said it was pantoloc. I do take pantoloc but it is small oval pill. the pill she gave me made me dizzy and numb. I was able to recognize my surroundings and hear everything but I was dopey and couldn t react or even speak. the following day after I took the pill, my arm swelled and was very painful. I removed my cast myself. it has been 6 months since my surgery and I still have swelling and tremendous pain mostly in my hand. swelling has never gone down to this day. The this pill that the nurse gave me was not recorded in my medical chart. I fear my arm will never heal and I may suffer permanently. my question is do you know what this pill might be that would cause this pain and swelling?
* There can be various possibilities of such off record given pill causing systemic reaction which could be in terms of bradykinin-induced anaphylactic reaction or else.
* Pantoloc is not responsible for this type of pain and swelling in the arm.
Should address the issue to the hospital authority for finding out the type of pill, its contents and possible management guidelines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
