Does Pantoprazole Cause Cancer?

I have Barrett s Esophagus and have taking Pantroprazol for a few years to prevent cancer in those cells. I am now reading where the med is causing cancer rather than preventing it. My cells are already abnormal but not cancerous. What can you tell me about this new finding, and is there any other treatment for the Barrett s?

Pantoprazole is a relatively safer drug and can be used safely for long term. It is effective for Barett and can be used for longer periods. It won’t cause cancer and prolonged use may lead to decrease acid production and which leads to a condition known as achlorhydria. Achlorhydria has a slight risk of stomach cancer. Overall the beneficiary effects surely surpasses risks.
