Does Penicillin Cause Excessive Thirst And Dry Mouth?

Hi, I am currerntly taking Penicillin VK 250mg due to tonsillitus. I don t usually drink much during the day but since i started taking these tablets I m constantly thirsty and my mouth is always dry. Ive been drinking on average 8/9cups of water a day and regularly going to the toilet aswell. I took the same kind of antibiotic only 2weeks previous to this 10day course that I m on just now and didn t suffer the same side effects. Is this normal? should I consult with my doctor?

hello,

yes both these side effects exist with penicillin use. you may want to check ur blood sugar levels by doing a fasting blood sugar and hba1c , if these symptoms persist. plz do consult ur doctor.
